Combined Operations will not launch...

Recommended Posts

Hello, heard about this mod from a friend, thought it looked cool so I bought Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead on Steam, after it downloaded and installed, I followed the instructions at http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2085 for the Steam install, but when I right click on ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead and then click Launch ARMA 2: Combined Operations I see a cmd window appear briefly but nothing else happens. Using the pause/break key I was about to grab the info that appears on the cmd window:

c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead>SETLOCA

I am able to play Operation Arrowhead but if I try to connect to a DayZ server, I get the error "You can not play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.cherarus" which I know means I need to launch Combined Operations. I have redownloaded the DayZ files 3 times, and I verified the Arma 2 and Arrowhead files through Steam, each time it found one bad file and reacquired it.

I have looked around the forums here, but I haven't found anyone with the same problem, if I missed it and someone could direct me to it, that would be great, otherwise if anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I know I read somewhere that you have to launch the game at least once before trying to play DayZ, which I figured I did by playing OA, but I guess you have to launch both arma 2 and OA at least once, or maybe just arma 2 once, but anyway it is working now and I'm pretty sure that is what fixed it, launching arma 2 once.

I believe i had the safe issue. Turns out sometimes you need to copy the files in the addons folder from the orignal Addon folder of Arma 2, and you add them to the Addon folder of Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead exaxt location below

from

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\AddOns

To

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\AddOns

this is what helped me and i hope it helps you

If the above doesn't work my friend had a similar issue. His CO wouldn't boot at all from his Steam, to fix this I had him run Arma 2 (The original) then Run Combined operations.

If Running Arma 2 wont work boot up Steam in Administrator Mode (Right Click Steam Icon) then run Arma 2 then run Arma 2 CO.

Let us know if it works for ya.

Edit: Well you got it fixed ignore my silly reply, lock this topic too someone hopefully people will use this as a reference.
