Why are car doors so loud?

The sound of someone entering or exiting vehicle travels about 1km, much further than even the engine noises travel.

I am assuming this is a bug, but I thought I remembering this being an issue with ARMA 2.

Is this something that can be addressed? It seems it probably isn't a DayZ Dev issue though but BIS.

Whenever I hop out of the vehicle I often think the sound is a gunshot in the distance. I always end up getting in and getting out, just to confirm it was the door.

It's always funny when our team-lead is flipping out over that sound. He's gotten so good at catching those things from a klick out, and we've found two or three cars from the car door alone.
