Tent Mechanics

Hello,

I am fairly new to the world of camping, so can you guys please explain some of the tent habits to me?

Question 1:

Say Player 1 place a tent on Server A. Player 1 then dies on Server B. Will the tent on Server A still disappear after X amount of days?

Question 2:

If the above happens, can Player 2 somehow save the tent on Server A or will it always disappear no matter what?

Question 3:

What does the "save tent" button do? I don't know if it is through server hiccups or stealing, but the past two times I have found items missing from the tent and obstacles near the tent have disappeared and reappeared.

Question 4:

If I pack up the tent, does the loot stay in it like a backpack?

Answer 1: As long as you're actively using your tent, placing/removing items, it won't disappear. Anyone can keep a tent active, not just the creator as far as I know.

Answer 2: Read 'Answer 1'.

Answer 3: The 'Save Tent' button does exactly as it states. It saves whatever you currently have within the tent, why this button is necessary I'm not entirely sure, but it's a good idea to click it a couple times before you leave or log out.

Answer 4: No, if you pack up your tent while there are items in it then everything inside will be deposited on the ground... assuming everything works as intended.

1. As far as I know yes but in the 1.7 series of patches I still have tents from my characters that have been dead for two weeks still active on my home server.

2. Only the original owner of the tent can pack up the tent if your character who placed the tent has died you can not repack it. One possible solution is to have spare tents stored in your tents.

3. Save tent does what you think it does it saves the tent through server restarts. The mechanics aren't perfect and sometimes it will disappear after a restart but another restart usually restores it. As for missing items people can find your tents and take items out of them; if they have a grenade or a vehicle they can outright destroy your tents. There are several glitches with tents and obstacles as well I once had a tent that I placed and then later moved to a nearby location, after server restarts I assume the tent would reappear in it's original location while the moved version of it still existed thus giving me a free tent.

4. If you pack up a tent with loot in it the loot inside will pile around on the ground... sometimes other times it just flat out disappears.

Awesome, thank you guys! Eased a lot of my fears and answered my questions.

One last thing, if I forget to save my tent before I log out, will everything that is in there disappear? I would think that it would save like a vehicle or backpack, but what do I know :(
