helicopter in dayz?

idk but is their still helicopters available on dayz? i saw one the other day flying around but idk if it was hacked in, it was the huey. So ya im wondering if u can still get helicopters in this game cause i saw one and i see parts constantly in this game for them.

I think they were taken off for now because it was dangerous to fly them. Maybe some older servers can have them but mostly they are hacked in at the moment?

One of the problems with helicopters in DayZ is that they cause MASSIVE desync. When the passengers get desync there is no pilot for their clients, so the helicopter plummets to the ground and kills them in a fiery explosion. However on the other passengers screens, and the pilots screen, the person suddenly dies and falls out of the helicopter. Sometimes entire helicopters of people can die from this depending on how much lag the helicopter creates on that server.

Other than that the only "dangerous" thing about them is that most people assume they are as easy to fly as battlefield 3 helicopters or something and end up crashing into the ground rotors first eight seconds after take off.

A helicopter was flying over cherno in LU1 just earlier, he managed to hit the tower on the hill in vysota, it blew up and crashed, and continued to blow up 3 times after, me and 2 friends were stood close by when all of a sudden 2 identical black guys come out from the crash, we unloaded unreal amounts of bullets into both but neither even bled, then they just popped all 3 of us dead!
