Ramtex's Ideas

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Been playing DayZ for about..3 weeks now. Must say I'm loving every bit of it. Its very rewarding to sneak into a zombie spawn region, raid the joint and sneak out without a single zombie bothering you. I just look back once I'm out of hearing range and just sign a little bit...

Anyway..

Was reading rockets posts about "I value your suggestions" and I thought..HOLY SHIT I HAVE SOME!

1) I heard that they are adding generators, for lights and shiz? I'm not sure what they will be using it for, but I have some ideas. Electrified barbed wire. Seen if on a few zombie movies. I'm guessing you could hook up, 4-6 barb wire fences to one generator, zombies get close and BAM! Also maybe have heaters or a stove (camping style), for cooking meat without the 300 metre zombie magnet.

2) I'm a strong believer in karma..hence why I don't player kill on DayZ (Cept this one time at night and this guy was sneaking around me and I freaked out and shot him in the face....) I think the more player killing you do, should decrease the chance of certain loot drops that you come across. Or increase the amount of zombies that are likely to spawn in your area. Karma's a bitch.

3) NPC companions. Give me a dog. I'll happly feed it, name it, love and keep it alive even if it kills me, but by god it would be fantastic not to be alone so much. If you get attacked, he'd help, if you shoot, he'll charge, if you go prone, he drops with you, stuff like that. Who here can honestly say they DIDN'T cry when Will Smiths dog died in I Am Legend. :'(

4) Last idea for now.

I wanna see some new skins. This one is a given. Your either a field agent look-a-like, a ghillie-suit ninja, or a american solider. No other options. Too bad. There needs to be less military style things, and more realistic zombie apocalypse style things. If L4D and Dead Island really did help inspire this game, take a leaf out of that book. Look at peoples jobs in life and match clothes accordingly. E.g, if you go to the hospital in a city, you may find a nurse or doctors outfit. If you go to a service station you may find a mechanic's overalls, or at a church a priests gown! Don't be afraid to abuse those stereotypes!.

Those are just a few ideas I've had in my short time playing this awesome game!

I'm going to bed now >_>

Ciao!

P.S: Sorry for any spelling/grammar errors, I'm so tired >.<

Apparently, in a recent interview, dogs are coming.

...I'm hoping they're friendly.

Zombies run spastic as hell, shooting something that's waist-high and zigzagging towards you will make sooo many people rage quit.

I want a dog though. I shall name him Zombie Bait.

Oh cool! I do hope they are friendly..or tameable or w/e.

I would name mine something warm and friendly and cute so he's the un-suspecting murderer.

Yep Karma's a bitch.By putting a reduced spawn amount on someone who murders another then you make them even creepier because now they NEED to kill to survive.

Your honestly saying that you'd reduce your chances of a decent weopon spawning in the wilds on the SLIM chance that the person your about to murder is carrying a half decent gun?

Those kinds of odd choices make you sit on the edge of your seat...

To kill, or not to kill.

Oh, the choices.

No idea if you agree with me or not.I agree karma is a bitch.Make reduced spawns for creeps forces them into a life of murder and mayhem. You wanna find shit and stay on gods(rockets)good side then do not murder.Yes itsa negative against bandits but they kill everyone they see anyway so its just make their life a little harder.Say a creep wants to head north and runs into some bad luck where he loses alot of blood.Good luck finding any kind of medical supplies creep.;)

1) Electric fences: No. Heaters: Maybe. There's already an idea for a power mechanic based on getting the power plants back up and maintaining them, I support that idea more than your proposition here.

2) Fuck no.

3) Too little detail on the mechanic to support. NPCs besides zombies would be interesting, but you're lacking information on how exactly it'd work and not be OP (presumably NPCs would be adepts at shooting the seemingly random zombie zig-zags, being arma AI themselves)

4) Support. I would absolutely love it if my group could dress up in Priest robes, grab some AKs, and go on a shooting spree through Cherno. Variety is nice, and could help aide the whole friend-or-foe problem we have.

In the point of NPC's being OP, I would assume they make it quiet a difficult task to keep your friendly alive. Like say if you do get a pet dog, he'd eat and drink just like you, and need medical attention just like you. Means you gotta carry supplies for two. Its just the same as being in a group of two, cept with an AI instead of a human.

Or make it so pets cant attack, only distract.

There are many ways you can avoid that subject being OP.
