My uncle came to my house to visit and has a steam account and Arma 2 combined ops. I also have a steam account and Arma 2 combined ops. however wen he logs on to his account and plays DayZ hes playing my DayZ character, and when he logs on to a server hes playing my DayZ character. So how do I make it so he can play on his, he doesnt care if he has to restart his character, but i do. Its on the same computer.

It has to do with registry keys stored in the registry on your computer. It stores only one key in the registry per computer, no matter how many different copies or users you have.

One option is to change the registry key every time you want to switch.

You can find your registry key by doing this:

Press windows start button type in the search regedit.

When you have regedit open, navigate to the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> WOW36NODE (if you use win7)

-> Bohemia Interactive Studio -> ArmA 2 OA

You will see a file there that says KEY.You can right click it and press modify.

you will see some figures. There are 15 double designations, something looking like

C6 30 B6 26 B4.... etc

these 15 pairs is your key. Every time your uncle plays he's playing with your key.

You will have to find out his key, but you will have to install the game to a different computer with his steam account to find out what it is.

Mind you the game doesn't have to work. You will only need to get it installed to see the key, so any laptop or similar will do just fine.

When you know what his code is, you can modify the key file and change it to his key. Then he can play his character.

Here are instructions how to make the changing process easier when you have both keys:

His instructions are missing one part though. You have to have REGEDIT4 typed in the beginning of the .reg file he's instructing to make.

You can also just use separate accounts in windows, then log each into your own steam accounts to play. That's what we do here (two computers, three players).
