break 88 Posted July 8, 2012 Hi guys, need a few questions answering about the DMR.So i know its zero'd in at 400m, what im not too sure of is how to use the milldots. Are they 100m increments or 200m?Also is it better to use the milldots with the zoomed in view, or the standard scope view?Do the milldots change between zoomed views? Thanks! Snipes007 6 Posted July 8, 2012 Try going somewhere, where you can use a way point to set distance to a tartget then begin to set the range using the notches on the sight that's how i did it and im ok at ranges from 400 -700m's now.
rallye 89 Posted July 8, 2012 At 400m, the dead center of the xhair is spot on accurate, at distances beyond that you need to raise the gun 1 mil dot on the xhair for every 100m.

break 88 Posted July 8, 2012 tried youtube man, cant find a good tutorial. Yeah Lobo. I know 400m the centre of the xhair is dead on. But there are 2 zooms on the scope. Are the milldots accurate for both zooms, or is it best to use the zoomed in view to calculate the distance. For example, is something was 600m away, I would raise the scope 2 milldots. But is this accurate on the zoomed view, or the standard view. @snipes007, I dont want to be randomly shooting a DMR anyway while playing DayZ

RedNoak 13 Posted July 8, 2012 no its not 100m per milidot... try youtube there ARE some good tutorials or download a shooting range mission and try for yourself
fenrix 9 Posted July 8, 2012 if your having trouble when you get to an area you can always take a ranging shot before hand. its rookie but it beats trying to estimate bullet drop especially if they are already running/aware of you.and if you arrive early. you can always do a ranging shot and just wait for prey. by say... placing a fuel can or valuable backpack in the middle of the street >:)if your far enough away you can usually pull a ranging shot off then start actual shooting before they have time to realise they are being shot at. KField86 237 Posted July 8, 2012 no its not 100m per milidot... try youtube there ARE some good tutorials or download a shooting range mission and try for yourselfhttp://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=14616It's very close to 100m per mildot, at least up to 600m. Once past that, the ballistics seem to change drastically, and you need to start aiming a bit more higher. I sat on that mission with a DMR for over an hour yesterday at tons of different ranges since it's the current sniper I use, and the only sniper I've had without zeroing. Was tired of missing shots with it.
