What are some of your Computer Specs for DayZ?

Recommended Posts

Thinking about what computer I would need to run ArmaII, and more specifically, DayZ. Will buy one soon, but money is obviously an issue.

What are some of your system specs, and what framerate does it achieve?

Looking mainly at what your CPU and GPU is, any other details could also be helpful.

Thanks!

i7 980X (extreme edition)... hexacore (not that its needed atm).

12GB DDR3 1800 Dominator (corsair) Ram

2GB 6950 (unlocked via bios to 6970) GPU

Liquid Cooling.... LED 24" 1920x1080 monitor

Cooler Master Haf X case.... so many fans...

My FPS ranges from 40 - 350

In central cherno (for example)... its usually around 40-70 fps.. really smooth.

Whilst up north (where i basically live ingame) I'm always on 80+... when running in fields between NWA - Stary etc... its usually on around 150 fps... sometimes higher, sometimes a lil bit lower.

I built this computer myself back in november 2011. BACK THEN it cost me £1,500 (many parts I havent mentioned, like PSU, motherboard etc)... so naturally will be a lot cheaper now, and you probs wont need the OverKill i7 980X... something like a 2600k is fine.

Hope this helps. (Monitor was not included in price, had it already).

Saber tooth z77, 3570k@4.5, 7970 lightning and 16g of Sammy green... an overkill really I don't monitor fps but with everything maxed out I've never experienced any jumping, even my 965 and 6850 can run arma2.

this is low end, it can run high gfx at 30 fps.if u can build a pc , this will run you 300 bucks or so if u take your time to find the good parts.

intel quad core q 6600

hd 4870

4 gig 667 ram

550w power

asus p45

if u go this route, become familiar with which chipsets will run pcie 2.0 , as its the most important to reduce bottlenecking.

How do you think an i7-3770k coupled with a gtx 670 will perform at very high settings?

Up until recently I was using an i5 3570k @ 4.8ghz and a 7870 @ 7970 speeds and the game ran fine (at least 60fps in cherno) all at max with AA on medium.

I did however just RMA the 7870 because AMD drivers are terrible. :P I'm getting a 670 instead.

I'm not great with computers so I went with quite a simple build on a budget last summer:

i5 2500k

Geforce 560Ti "Phantom" 1024mb

8gb ram.

msi p67a-gd65 motherboard.

antec case.

antec 620 watt power supply.

Runs DayZ great on high.

If anybody can help, I have a budget of about $1500 for the pc. I would prefer Intel CPU and a GTX gpu but if anybody has any other suggestions, everything would help.

Does that budget include a monitor as well?
