How about some big trees? Sometimes it feels like it doesn't rain under those big trees. But I haven't spent enough time under them to see, if temperature starts raising.

That sounds weird, was he maybe more rested before the both of you sat down? Maybe it also depends on how "old" your character is. possibly some changes didn't stick.
