fearz0r 128 Posted July 8, 2012 Hi all, I'm new to the game (sorta) and I went on a server yesterday that displayed weird circular white(ish) auras around Zeds and players, which I could see through walls and other objects for a distance around me.. it was like a wall hack almost. Is this legit, and what causes it?cheers

clever 12 Posted July 8, 2012 For low difficulties it's suppose to represent seeing something out of the corner of your eye, or something. When translated into DayZ, it'll mean you'll be seeing a lot of white circles everywhere.
disorder 344 Posted July 8, 2012 Its called "peripheral detection" and its a thing to mark nearby entities/players that aren't in your immediate view but off to the side. It is set to on with recruit difficulty.

Well I noticed it appeared on the edges of my screen on one server, and then in my normal FOV on another..
enforcer1975 1111 Posted July 8, 2012 It's a different setting than difficulty afaik. It's also on some veteran servers, it simulates your RL fov because your monitor only show part of it.
