Talrivian 0 Posted July 8, 2012 In real life, can you do everything? Can you sow a wound shut, fix a broken leg, repair a helicopter, fix a flat tire? No you can't do everything. You are good at a few things.I think that when you create a new character, you should have to choose a "background", which gives your character certain skills. You could be, for example, a doctor. This would give you the ability to help yourself, and other players medically. You could be ex-military or ex-police, giving you better proficiency with firearms. You could be a mechanic, and be good at fixing cars and helicopters and such. This would create roles for people, and give more incentive for people to help each other because the PLAYER would offer a SKILL that is more valuable than any item he or she may or may not have. This, combined with many of the current exploits being fixed/resolved, could make for a much better gaming environment. Sterling (DayZ) 22 Posted July 8, 2012 While I personally prefer equality, I can't help but support this idea. This is something I didn't think about AT ALL, and I'm usually an out of the box "what-if" kind of guy.My only fear is that the backgrounds (classes) might not be very balanced. I'd imagine the ex-military/police guy would be the most popular.
Talrivian 0 Posted July 8, 2012 It wouldn't be so popular when you are bleeding to death or crawling with a sprained ankle. And the way the game is now, you WILL be bleeding eventually.
