Hello I'm relatively new, been here for a week so I know the basics but I had some questions.

So, Today I've had a bad day, particularly in the looting sector of things. I am finding GARBAGE! I know you're thinking "Idiot thinks tin cans aren't part of the game." But no, not the problem, all I seem to find are flares, chemlights, and the actual garbage.

Now I don't play at night, because it's a pain to see at night and I heard flares attract the zombies. And, because I only find these I can't get even a makarov to defend myself. I usually try to go to Northern part of Elektro, the firestations and such, but there, once again I only find chemlights and flares.

I considered server hopping in a firestation for loot, but I also considered this to be the problem, with people like me looting each server. A person like me couldn't find anything decent, so I decided against it.

I don't mean to bitch or whine, but is this just a bad streak? Is it my luck? Also, yes I have checked deer stands, I usually find ammo for a gun I don't have.

Another question, people seem to find like, M4's and such, but the most 'elite' weapon I have seen, is an AKM, I do use a loot map, yes I know I'm a dirty cheater. But these locations yield next to nothing.

Why do I ALWAYS find terrible loot?

What servers do you play on? I've had strange experiences across servers. Sometimes I log in and I check several deer stands/high yield barns. They are either empty or full of cans. I try another server later and there will be 3 Lee Enfields in one barn! It really is just random chance.

However, I think you can increase your odds; if all the spots are occupied by garbage I *think* that stops new stuff from spawning. Pick up the garbage and throw it somewhere else, walk like 100-200m away from the spawn and come back in a few minutes. New loot should be there.

I'm not sure what the specific numbers are on this in terms of time and distance.

The game is tough. It took me 2 days to find my first pistol, and I died a lot in between.

I get great loot now simply because I know where to look, and I carefully manage risk/reward.

When I start now, I look for a hatchet. The hatchet is great because it's easy to find (low yield industrial or farm areas) and you can melee kill zombies silently with it. Armed with a hatchet, you can now find food and soda in residential areas, and if you get caught by zombies, you can take 'em out. OR, you can just run straight into a bigger city like Berezino, Elektro, or Cherno. Those cities constantly have great loot, and you can avoid some major risks by starting on a lower population server.

Supermarkets, fire stations, hospitals, deer stands, high yield barns, apartment buildings. Visit those places on a low population server and you will have no problem finding great starter gear.

Once you have your starter loot, if you're thirsty for more, you can visit high yield military areas- that is risky, but the weapons and equipment are great. Watch out for people camping those spots.

Thanks, I usually am in the northern area of Elektro, that's where I camp most of the time, because of the two firestations, supermarket, hospital and office building. But as of late those are the areas I've been finding trash.

And I mostly go on the seattle servers and some of the US servers I am MST and I avoid the night usually.

And thanks for the tip with throwing the garbage, do you guys know if there are any threads on both distance and time?

Just leave the coast and hit every store on the way up the the big airfield.

I always find plenty of guns on my route up their.

M1911, Crossbow's, Revolvers, CZ550, Lee Enfield, Winchester 1866, Makarov PM and even a M24 once. Of course plenty of hatchets, and crowbars can be found as well.

I honestly kill more zombies with my hatchets than any of my elite weapons. The hatchet doesn't make any real noise and honestly sniping from a tower is cool the first 2 or 3 clips. But when you realize when you try to get down and there is a horde beneath you thats not to fun lol.

Thank you, funny I always find hachets when I need them least.

Also, I went to the NW airfield once, no people just zombies, only ammo and such, even in the barracks even though people brag "OH HEY LOOK THE BEST WEAPON IN THE GAME!" Is this just a bunch of lies or do you guys get good stuff there...

True, I don't know how people get all the great loot. Also, deer stands, do people get really useful stuff from these? Because, flares and blue chemlights aren't high demand for me, and the deerstands are just covered in 'em.

I have mixed luck depending on how long the server has been running for, sometimes a reset will start the Loot spawn mechanic again. I have been on lots of servers where only tins, flares and axes spawn regularly.

I only find it difficult to find a map LOL.

I find weapons almost everywhere, just having a HARD time finding maps....

Thank god I got a compass and a watch though.

Although im sure i have also seen loot spawn in front of me, so just empty the loot piles and wait a bit, try cycling between two or more buildings etc....
