So the other day I did some scoping around the edges of the map and I found a group of tents, 5 of them.

They held all sorts, ghillie suits, various assault rifles you'd find at heli crashes, AS50s and a camo M40A3.

Does anyone know if it is legit? I checked the DayZ wiki and there's nothing on there about the weapon but all of the other equipment was legitimate and I don't know why you'd spawn in something like this when there are much higher powered rifles in the game.

Just because they had it, doesn't mean they themselves were the hackers. They could have gotten it from a hacked in crate and decided to store it. Probably is just there for the sake of rarity.

Are there any negative affects to using it?I shot a few animals with it to test it out. I'm not to keen on getting banned for nothing...

Your character is noted by the server of possessing illegit equipment, but there's no repercussions from it as long as it's few and far between.

If the hive notices that you are constantly found possessing hacked gear over a short period of time, you could be flagged for hacking.

did the gun have an icon picture in the inventory? I know thats one thing Rocket said all legit gear has a real icon picture.

But yeah I dont see that weapon on the wiki but was just wondering about the icon picture.

your fine, i picked up a g36 a couple days ago and its still working fine even though i know its a hacked weapon.

if you didnt spawn the weapon your fine

if they were to data ban hackers can just spawn/force people stuff and get everyone banned. already happening, hackers are bored with nuking servers so they just spawn everyone golden aks.

That is not an svd skin that is an m40 a3 skin.

I can see the chin pad on the stock.

It's gone now, someone else has it.

Seems strange that you'd spawn one of those in when there's already better weapons in game and they aren't exactly hard to find o_0
