How does Banning work?

Hello, recently I've been wondering how DayZ bans hackers, or does BattleEye do the Banning? Also does it IP-Ban them or just ban them from the server they hacked in?

So in short this is what I want to know:

Who bans hackers?: DayZ Devs or BattleEye?

Does it: IP-Ban or Just bans them on the server they hacked in?

BattlEye bans their cd key. If they are caught, that is.

Hackers that are banned were handled by BattleEye. They ban the CD-Key that was used for that game, keeping them from joining any BattleEye-enabled servers.

hah lol, no. I was just wondering cause of all the recent major hackings I've seen on youtube.

Heres the reason im asking:
