Prioritization of bugs?

Recommended Posts

Don't take this the wrong way, it's not a rant. But merely a question/suggestion.

I've been wondering, why the development team/guy (I have no clue how many developers you are) are prioritizing balancing of certain items, adding new items, feature etc. When the core functions are not in place? The zombies are a wreck, and they are what makes the game. The server performance is horrendous in most cases. There's lag. Rubberbanding. Zombies walk through walls and fly off cliffs/roofs. You break your legs when walking over anything larger than a rock and when crawling in tight spaces etc.

You get my point. I've been wondering why these issues aren't being prioritized before adding new guns and things that wont even matter because you're more likely to get killed by bugs than actual game mechanics.

I love dayz, but this boggles my mind :<

Have you thought that if there are more than 1 developer MAYBE they have different skillset and the one with the script-coding skills works on bugs and stuff, the others works on adding bear traps and related nonesense?

And if there's really just 1, i imagine while he wait for the feedback from the closed test on the bug fix he made yesterday, he works on adding more stuff. That's how development goes.

You obvious don't understand what alpha and beta testing is about, that or you don't realise that DayZ is in alpha.

Edit: Just to clarify in case you're too lazy to google: Alpha is not for polish or bug fixing, its for basic build and testing/adding features. In the alpha stage bugs are not a priority by definition, new features are a priority by definition. Beta is for when the core game and features have been settled upon, then you hunt bugs and polish the game.

Please read that to get a good idea about the Lead Developer's intentions. TL;DR it and you risk being ridiculed.

I'm not gonna read a 100 threads just to justify my question' date=' although I did read some of it and my question still stands. I see that things like zombies walking through walls is a core bug in arma II which is therefore very hard to fix. But this is why I used the word prioritization. Correct me if I'm wrong, but these bugs that I mentioned (and those alike) have been in the game since day one... when they've been there since day one isn't it time to put down "I need to fix deathmatching" and instead focus on "I need to fix -insert crazy bug-". I'm not asking the developers to drop whatever they're working on this very second, it's a mod, and mods are made with more personal care than most games.

Again, I'm not ranting, this is not Bothering me, but it BOGGLES me.

Continuity... there's prioritization in alpha and beta. Your post doesn't help me one bit.

Your post doesn't help me one bit.

Then i'm afraid you're beyond help. I don't have the patience to spoon-feed an answer to an imbecile.

I'm sorry if i'm rude but this comes up so often that it gets pretty annoying. I tried to be civil in my first post at least.
