spawning and weapons

I would suggest upon spawning you would have a knife, a hatchet or something to kill with. Since you cant hit barehanded, one would pick up a rock, a tree trunk or anything to whack with, in a minute, instead of running without means to defend yourself..

As a new player, I find it very hard to sneak around unarmed, searching for a hatchet, and i see some axes in a treestump but cant pick them up..:P

Or, as someone suggested, some servers could allow spawning with some melee weapon, and others not?
