Presence- 41 Posted November 18 Survivors start from scratch. No knives, no bandages, no maps, no glow sticks. Nothing at all. Zero. Even if the benevolent idea was to help survivors and especially beginners, it's really no help at all, and it robs you of your experience more than it enriches it. Need some rags for a chance to survive? Tear off your clothes. "Don't you dare insult my thinking abilities". Can't you do it? If not, for whatever reason, you've at least tried to survive. Isn't this an event and an occurrence in a survival context? Handing survivors the necessities to survive without having to work for it is depriving them of the experience of getting there. It's a survival content, isn't it? Described and marketed as authentic, gritty, and unforgiving. So why cut out the necessary ingredients for the survival experience? 1 1
nemorus 265 Posted November 18 No killing for starting items, bandages, no way of hoarding them... Nice suggestion. 1 1
Riddick_2K 174 Posted December 13 (edited) To make it an even more absurd and unrealistic game? NO thanks. Why not with crippled hands... even more difficult... Why not with lame feet... increasingly difficult... Could we make a survival game for the blind? (without a guide dog)... Seriously: Just finding yourself on the coast half naked and without anything is absurd and unrealistic! In the event of a pandemic... either you die immediately or you equip yourself well (vehicle, weapons, medicine, food) and try to escape. THIS is the real beginning of something like this... everything else is bullshit. You have a distorted vision of what a "realistic day zero" should be (also by the description of the game itself, which does not reflect reality). Denying this means denying the reality of the facts. P.S. The beginning of DayZ, as it was written, could be "realistic" only in the case of a shipwreck on a desert island after a storm at sea, NOT a beginning of a survivor of a pandemic (subject of THIS game). Making it even more "ridiculous", would make the WHOLE game even more "ridiculous", without a real advantage in terms of gameplay: in a short time you recover what you do not have at the beginning... already very, very little. The real game begins after... MUCH after... 😐 Edited December 13 by Riddick_2K

The realism you speak of is subjective, and so are your reality and your descriptions: “absurd” “bullshit” “ridiculous” “the real beginning” “advantage” "gameplay" “real game”. 2. I did not talk about realism for my suggestion. 3. Above all, I provide ingredients for a survival aspect. 4. The title of the post is not “Realistic Day Zero”. It's titled “Day Zero”. 5. Realism was never the goal. DayZ was meant to deliver an authentic experience.
