Vehicle and tent inventory wiping

I would like to know if there is any way to tell whether or not a vehicle or tent will eventually eat all your hard-earned gear? I had a vehicle that had some medical supplies and stuff in it. They still were there the next day and I thought that the vehicle was safe to use and thus stored my AS50, mags, more stuff and 2 aks74 kobras in there but then the next day the whole inventory of the vehicle had disappeared.

And tents, I can't even get them to work. I have used them twice, hiding them in a good spot far away, put in some useless items to see if they are there the next day, which they weren't so I haven't even dared to use tents to this point since the "test items" I put in them always disappear.

Is there no way to get vehicles and tents to work? And yes, I remembered to save.

I want to say they will stay in until the map is reset but not sure.

Recent patch has forced tents and vehicles outside of the map range to be deleted/respawned after server restarts, dunno if that has anything to do with it.

my tent gear yesterday was deleted - it was definitely within the map

how are people able to horde gear if there is no consistent way to store items?

What I've found is that when you first set up a tent any items in it will disappear after the first server restart, after that you can place items in the tent and they stay there. I've been doing this for a while and after the first server restart when you set up a tent, the tent works as it should.

Not sure about the vehicle problem though.

Inventory of my tents was also wiped clean. The thing JimBob says doesn't hold in my case.

I had stuff in the tents. There was a server restart > stuff still in tents.

Today, after having added some more stuff upon restart of the server everything was wiped.

Also; shouldn't this be in bug reports section?

We lost all the gear in two tents and the storage of our Quad bike yesterday.

Now it COULD have been stolen but.

One tent and quad bike both lost every item but the quad bike was still there.

The other tent was next to a tent full of good gear and none of that was gone, only the random junk in the second tent. And again every item was missing.

I could never just leave my stuff lying around if I wasn't there. Just today I found and stole a bike someone thought was hidden in a bush (near the coast too). If only there was a more secure way for people to store loot and their vehicles, perhaps there will be one day.
