Anybody know if there are parachutes?

Now that I have a chopper, I was wondering. If my squad ejects, will they parachute down, or fall to their death? Any answer here is greatly appreciated so I don't have to find some newb on the coast to test it for me (:

Thought so, would be an interesting thing to find or have them spawn in choppers, allowing you to HALO jump. Anyways, thanks (btw nice signature)

In ArmA 2 vanilla, once you hit that eject button in any type of aerial vehicle you will automatically have a parachute opened with you on the way down.. I'm not confident about it on DayZ

What was your altitude?

I've seen some videos with people jumping out of helis in DayZ, and I believe there was a parachute and they didn't die. Unless their dead bodies just float down to earth on a feathery-white savior of no one.
