i wish there was some way to counter this :(

Just gotta be quicker *or* smarter than the other guy. Don't need both, one will usually do the job.

It's not movies, I'm not talking about force knockback. My god the .45 at close range absolutely shreds a soft target. This isn't movies, this is reality, the round was adopted specifically for that purpose. It's lag, not realism, because the person would die. If you play regular arma singleplayer, you'll see all the larger rounds down a target in one shot to the chest.

i think the worst part of PvP is when you spend hours getting a stable amount of food' date=' water, supplies, and ammo, and then some fucking jackass decides to shoot you with their only incentive being that they have a gun and want to kill someone, so you lose your hours of work in a few seconds not because you messed up, but some other little shit decided to ruin your fun. i wish there was some way to counter this :(

Ya, being stealthier.

This is why I'm hoping that as you put time and effort into the game, you gain the ability to start out with certain low to mid level weapons/items. You put in enough time and you spawn with a Mak/1911/Glock or an MP5 or something.

Well... in my opinion the .45 ACP is probably the best caliber for handgun self-defense, and the only reason the FBI adopted the .40 S&W as a standard for agents is because the .45 ACP is almost a century old and there was no more room for improvement, but what you're saying is simply wrong. The person would die, probably, but not immediately. I've seen plenty of cases where .45 ACP rounds failed to incapacitate immediately and the person was able to react and only died minutes later.

Unless a bullet damages the central nervous system, brain or spinal cord, there won't be guaranteed immediate incapacitation. Period. There's no magical caliber that can do that. Even a perfect shot destroying someone's heart won't guarantee immediate incapacitation.

Maybe what happens in game is due to lag or something else, but trust me. It's a lot more realistic than if everyone dropped instantly from a .45 ACP round.
