AGONY_ 0 Posted May 12 Specifically on OFFICIAL servers for PC, is there some way for someone to see my in-game name from 10 meters away from me? I just had this happen to me when I was already suspecting foul play, and I just want to verify whether or not this is a feature/mechanic that I have been unaware of before I start claiming they were cheating. I know back in the day you could name check people when you checked their pulse, but that's been changed for a long time now, and they were nowhere near me, let alone checking my pulse. Salem's Cave 2 Posted May 12 The only way I know for someone to see your name at least on vanilla ( no mods ) if you type in proximity chat.

Honestly there's no way. The Steam has Stram Source Query (SSQ) Protocol, which has A2S_Players request and on DZ-side the server return malformed data, the vest you can get from that - is how long player on server without death (session length), but again No Names, No kills data. There's other way if hosters made own site that could implement the BE query protocol and in that way it will work like a charm (on my server's side it's implemented for A2OA & DayZ SA servers - for now for DZ it's turned off soon will replace the server so let it be down...). And yes the GameTracker (GT) can't assist you because GT - using SSQ protocol... I'm sorry for such bad news mate...

I'm a content creator, so I wanted to fully make sure there wasn't some update that made my in-game name hover over my head and I just didn't know it before I made a short on it making such a bold accusation without having done any research. Thanks again for such an in-detail reply.

Thanks again for such an in-detail reply. Mate I can suggest you to explore the DayZ Expansion. It has ability to show up (as notification) who is login / logout, killed (by whom or what's reason). Maybe that can be the to solve your issue. Also you can try to play with community online tools, it has ability for creating the web hooks and send information to the discord server about who is online on the server. Dive in with that information and try to find approach that will satisfy you. My way was write a page for my server's site that show information who is online (based on BE ID and if it's existing - showing up his Steam Name and link to the account. P.S. Sorry I'd forgot to point on that I'm one of the server hosters so I have the wide way for get that information, but if you are the player - then answer of Salem's Cave would be the best way for solving it...
