Killed By An Invisible Person

Where: Near the Northwest Airfield, in a field.

When: 4:00 PM CST

Who: I ended up seeing who it was, he was a member of 7th Cav. so I joined their Teamspeak Server and started making small talk with them (I killed four of them at a Van near a crashed Helicopter). He ended up saying that he was invisible. His name is =7Cav=CPL.TIGER.H

I didn't care much about dying seeing as I took out four of them, but when I found out that he was abusing a glitch that made him invisible, that's when it pissed me off. 18 day character ended (on somewhat of a good note) by some douche who played invisible. Total bullshit. Someone ban his GUID. He said hes been playing for a week like that.

EDIT: Turns out he's also invincible. I'm sitting here in the 7th Cav. Teamspeak and they're just shouting it out.

EDIT #2: For the people that say this is me complaining, I went into the 7th Cavalry Regiment Teamspeak channel for DayZ and started making small talk about what had happened. You know like, "Hey I just killed you guys, sorry bout that." After sitting there for a while, one of them asked who was invisible, and a person (Tiger H.) said, "I am." And someone else proceeded to ask if he was the guy who killed Chewbacca (me) and he replied "Yes." I asked him about it and he told me he had been like that for a week and couldn't fix it. I suggested to reinstall his whole game, which he hadn't tried. I also said that he should post a thread on here, but he won't. Instead, it seems that the 7th Cavalry members playing DayZ think it is good to have an Invisible and Invincible person to protect their base and whatnot and to run around killing people who attack them. Shame, I had played OA with 7th and they have members fully exploiting a glitch/cheat/whatever it may be.

Excuse me? I never said I had been playing like that for a week. I said I had found out about it last night when I updated DayZ after not playing for over a month and nobody could find me when I looked for them. I have no idea why I can't be seen or injured, I tried reinstalling the beta patch, even wiping out DayZ in my Arma directory and AppData folders to no avail. So I assumed I may as well go on playing with what I could and have a laugh about it until a new update came out. What would you like me to do? Not play at all?

You literally SAID, "It's been like this for a week." You're lucky my computer HDD is full. And why haven't you made a thread about it? And why did you use you're powers to KILL PEOPLE? I killed your people fair and square, and here you are, invisible, and you kill me with a crowbar. When that guy attacked your base, Undead Legion, he probably would've killed ALL of you had you not been invisible. It's COMPLETELY unfair. AS50, 6 mags, M16A4 ACOG, 5 mags. Gone, because you decided to use your glitch to help yourself.

I literally did not. I said it would take a week to reinstall arma, but other than that you're absolutely wrong. I just updated the mod last night, so I couldn't have been like this for a week. I didn't make a thread because I never took the time to make a forum account or anything, and it seemed like more of a game based/ beta based problem than a mod based one to me because of other abnormalities I'm having that happen when not playing DayZ. Undead Legion would have been killed by me invisible or not. I found him from a remote location, circled around, and shot him because he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings. You can complain about unfairness, but if that's the case I may as well complain that it's unfair that I can't fix this glitch and play the game normally like I'd like to no matter what I do.

Not to mention, if I really wanted to abuse a glitch, why in the world would I have come out of the woodwork? I'd like to know what happened, why it did, and how I can fix it. Yes, I probably went a little over the edge when I killed you because I had just ran 30,000 meters out of debug forest for the third time in a row and I was a little pissed off, but I'm not running around killing everyone I see. I'm trying to play as normal as I can given the circumstances.

I'm mainly upset that you killed me, on Day 18, took my AS50, M16A4, Night Vision, Rangefinder, etc. and made off with a truck that I completely repaired the night before. I would be perfectly fine if I could get all of my stuff and my truck back. Because, if I had been killed legit, I would've been alright. I killed four and died, that's a good way to end a character. Not getting killed by an invisible person WHO KNOWS that's it a glitch.

I didn't take any of your guns or tools actually. If your body and gear had not disappeared instantly though, I would have definitely collected it and held it for you until you could get it because you didn't seem to be a total arsehole after you came on TS and talked to us, and neither am I.

If it's that big of a deal to you, I doubt it would be a problem to return your truck and give you some roughly equivalent weapons. I know we have an M107 and some M4A3s around.

Hop on TS and we should have you squared away in no time. By the way, after talking to someone else that had this same problem, they gave me a newer version of the beta patch to try. It worked and I can see myself again :D
