Dayz it's still not finished(not in a bad way)

Recommended Posts

Bugs, hackers, feedbacks, there are still things to be adjusted in to the game and I wonder why people get so mad at the devs for doing an update with new items and some bug fixes, the devs are putting effort in giving us new items and fixing bugs at the same time, well I'm not saying that this is a justification to ignore some important feedbacks but look at what game we are playing now and look how it was before, do you really think that the devs don't think about the community and do what they want? there are people that played the game since release and they're still playing it now because they know how good it became, the fear, the anxiety, the sweaty hands, instead of thinking what you want to think, think what you need to think, and as the title says, dayz it's still not finished because the devs are still in love with their game and want to add new things and improve, and dayz it's the most realistic game and I don't think that it will end up dying, I think that In some years it will be still active like today, even if there are hackers and bugs

That's true, but I honestly think that the dev team should focus primarily on the problems that are actively ruining the game (cheaters, bugs, wipes etc.) instead of adding new stuff. Its definitely nice to see a content update once in a while, however the new stuff is completely useless if you get one tapped by a cheater every few minutes. Right now it feels like the devs are completely relying on battleEye instead of making some anti cheat measures in the base game (memory obfuscation, anti-debugger measures etc.). It would certainly be a pain in the ass for the devs to implement, but the community would definitely appreciate it a lot more than extra backpacks.

I really hope so, I just got killed by a cheater and i don't plan on playing again before the update is released. I don't even care about the stuff in my base anymore, the only thing i want is this game being playable on official.

You have many options.

Play community vanilla 1pp. Spaggie, zero, dusk etc

Why do you think so? In my opinion wipes are ruining the game because dayz simply isn't a fast-paced game, it takes a lot of time and effort to get good loot and build a secure base. There's also stuff like flagpoles, electrical generators etc. that almost never get used because the servers wipe too often. Players can also raid bases, so loot-hoarding isn't much of an issue either.

Community servers aren't really cheater-proof either though, there are still hacks like ESP that are pretty much impossible to detect unless the cheater is making it obvious. There's also the potential issue of admin abuse, the server not actually being very vanilla (altered config), and also you can't get achievements on community servers.

Well, think of this, dayz stays silent for more than 2 years only concentrated on re-writing the infected code and system that bans cheaters, you think that dayz community would be the same? it will take at least more than 1 year to recover the player activity because without updates with new things people get bored and try new games, and if they find a game that they define better, its not easy to return to dayz even if they hear about the new stability cheaters and infected update, unless they're veterans, casual players are more than you think

The loot is not yours. It s lend to you by the game. You are not playing Rust. Dayz is much more than building a base and hoard items. And as any online game it needs to be wiped to level everyone and give the server a little of room.

I ve got altmost 3k in Dayz and only found cheaters in spaggies once and in dusk twice. In almost Seven years playing in those servers (The village was called before).

You need to understand what is this game about

About your last post. It makes no sense. Game has a very very healthy population. It s the best never been. It s not for being a game about bases...

I am not saying that DayZ is a game about building bases and hoarding loot, I'm just addressing the issue. In your 3k hours, when was the last time you've seen someone use a flagpole (in vanilla)? If it wasn't meant to be used, why is it in the game then? And why can the flagpole be used to extent the despawn time of player structures up to 90 days? Seems to me that the devs intended DayZ to not wipe that often. Its true that DayZ is not just about building bases and hoarding loot, but its still a part of the game.

Don't want to be rude but you need to understand that everyone plays the game differently, there's not some "correct" way of playing it...

Also, when have I ever mentioned the game's population?
