FPS Drop Spikes in certain situations

Recommended Posts

I have a problem where i get small lag spikes at certain times, examples include but are not limited to: "Sometimes turning rapidly, being chased by shit tons of zombies, in moving vehicles, entering and moving through towns and cities." For other reasons, i am running on low video settings, so lowering those inst an option. This is my system specs:

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium--Dell

System Model: Inspiron N5110

Processor: Intel® Core i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz, Dual Core

Installed RAM: 6.00 GB

Total Virtual Memory: 11.8 GB

Display Device: Intel® HD Graphics Family

Other than small lag spikes it is running great, but i was wondering if it was possible to get rid of this small but annoying problem. Thanks!

The culprit is your graphics card, the on-board Intel HD Graphics Family can just barely play today's games, and Arma 2 is one of the most demanding games out there right now! Also it doesn't help that your CPU is a dual core and not a quad core.

Play on very low graphics quality.

Works for my computer, I don't get often frame drops, and I have a Toshiba.

i too have a toshiba (laptop) and get some fps drops in certain situations. it dependes often on the server, if it has just restarted the drops will be fewer...

for some reason or another i get better performance running very high on shadows detail, object detail. and textures. Then i disable AA and vsync and HDR to normal. then it will vary between 30-40fps in open terrain and reducing to 15 in towns when i get the drops.

i have a toshiba qosmio with a i7 2,2 ghz, 8GB ram and Nvidia gforce gtx 560.

i think that performance in dayz is very server dependant. just choose a server with regular restarts and use winxp extention...
