Tunnel network

Recommended Posts

An alternative to tents. If the person can find a shovel and various other items (perhaps wooden beams and etc) the player could build a tunnel entrance. This would be very difficult to detect unless a player looked very carefully. I guess the problem would arise where the player that built it would not be able to find their way back. But one could get round this by perhaps being able to leaf chalk marks on trees or stick arrows on the floor.

You know how difficult this would be in real life? Also how difficult it would be to get in the game?

Have you even read my post? Its so difficult that the Vietnamese peasant army did it all over Vietnam and beat the more advanced American army's ass with it. You can easily dig out an area to live in underground, it doesn't have to be very big, just away from the elements and you could easily secure it with wood and such like so you didn't get killed. Maybe I should change my suggestion to 'Hole in the ground to keep your shit in'.

Also if you read carefully I said an entrance. If you can place a tank trap you can place a tunnel entrance. I wasn't expecting there to be an elaborate network of tunnels to live in. Entrance doesn't even need to be that visible. In vietnam tunnel networks were well hidden. Thanks for the support douche bag.

I had an idea like this today but better.

If sewage systems and tunnels were introduced for City area's. Find a manhole, climb down and be confronted with a whole new dark world underneath a city/town. which could make for an alternative to bolting through cities or just a gutsy player looking to score some tunnel loot.

I also thought about Bunker Bases. Like what you'd see in, Fallout 3/New Vegas. Rare Loot, Zombie's, Underground fort in secluded area's, unmarked on the map etc

But I realised that both would be too hard to implement into a mod and carried on with my day...

Yeah, currently its very difficult to do tunnels i'm arma 2. I think arma 3 has it figured out though.

And i'm pretty certain that DayZ will be on that cash cow train.
