I managed to spend a lot of time away and under the radar of Zombies, but after a while my char got thirsty and I got desperate for water. That's when I got hasty and screwed up getting too close to an abandoned building.

Where am I supposed to find a canteen?

Supermarket's are the best, almost always 2-3 there. Watch the Quick Start guides on the GuideZ channel if you aren't sure what store's look like.
