The opinion of a player who acquired Dayz back in 2014

Recommended Posts

There are two proposals, on different topics, so as not to clutter up the space, I will describe them in 1 topic.

First sentence describing the process:

Dayz is currently a more balanced and very fun game, from my point of view it lacks specific major tournaments like other disciplines related to the game mechanics, what can I introduce? Even if such a tournament is held every two years, for example, I would see a way of holding something that would not drag out one match for more than five hours, this may look exactly like this - each match will be associated with the mechanics of the game, for example, for all 100 participants in the first round, the goal will be to survive, after appearing on the shore, all players are in PVE mode for the first five minutes to avoid chaos, after three hours a massive spawn of zombies will begin that will be able to open doors, climb into hard-to-reach places, during this time the player must find weapons, building tools, build up and try to fight off zombies and players, the last 30 players go to the next stage, for example, it is associated with PVP mechanics, players are given tablets at the beginning of the game, on which every 10 minutes you can see the nearest players in range 1 000 meters, If after three hours there are more than 30 players on the server, starting from the edges of the map, there is a massive shelling of the himzone gradually approaching the very center, like in deathmatch, so you can weed out the best players in dayz who know this game better than any beginner until the final.

The second sentence concerns the game itself, and rather describes my vision of how to make the electronic lock code in games:

It seems to me that there are two options for implementing such an idea, the first one is closer to reality, for example, a mechanical combination lock is placed on the building, from above electronic combination lock for 5 digits with three 9v batteries capable of maintaining energy for within one month , after the charge ends, the electronic lock code subsides and the mechanical one remains.
The second option is to add a radiation-type battery, which can only be found at large military bases, it is only suitable for electronic locks and its charge is unlimited, but the second method is more fantastic, it seems to me the first one is more practical

P.s This is my humble and superficial idea of what would be good for the game, maybe something like this has been in development for a long time, I just don't have the information, let's hope for the developers

You don't need to worry about lore or realism incorporating electronic code locks. You can simply change the way you interact with the current ones. I mean is pressing a button for a given number really any less realistic than holding a button until a given number appears? Nope.

On top of that make the current locks stay on the door instead of dropping off when unlocked (which really is unrealistic as you'd just leave them hanging on the door irl) and allow player characters who have entered the code manually once to store said code so that they don't need to reenter it every time they pass through. Hey presto problem solved.
