Codelocks

Recommended Posts

Suggestion.

Add a new kind of lock there the character remembers the code every time.
These lock´s can be higher tire loot or more rare spawn in any tire loot area´s.

But still keep the regular bicycle code lock within the loot table.

There is a problem with logic here. "Character remembers" means that locked door will just open immediately when clicked, right? It doesn't make sense. You would need a biometric type of lock for that. How is that supposed to work here? You have makeshift wooden frame attached to the crooked pole via random metal wire and then you want highly advanced lock on top of all that mess? The only thing that could - maybe - spawn such a thing across the map is un helicrash, really.

People are saying that basic codelocks are OP - mostly because these things are working almost instantly after being installed. If by some remote chance these types of locks would find their way into vanilla game then they would need to be optimised for game's setting. Meaning: you would need to type the code each time and also confirm it. Each lock = more typing. If i correctly remember "DayZ Expansion mod" had its own codelock version and it worked just like that. People were forced to type their codes each time they wanted to open their doors. Big bases = lots of gates = code maps for its users. And that was fine.

imagine having a 4 dial codelock where you only moved one dial when you locked it... that would open immediately when clicked once right? No need for biometrics, no need for button press locks, no need for suspension of reality... only a need for a shortcut that makes a process that takes seconds in real life take much longer in a game where time is moving stupidly fast in all other aspects.
