Robzom11 109 Posted October 23, 2022 (edited) Ohh how I’d love to see seasons in DayZ… does anyone know if this is at all a possibility for the future of DayZ? I know the devs are probably not talking about something like seasons at this point in development but I can’t help but hope that one day seasons are implemented even if it seems unlikely. Every time I get back into this game I always wander across this thought and just day dream. Wonder if this was at all in the road maps from long ago if any OGs could chime in, and also just love thinking about the prospect of seasons in DayZ so if anyone has anything to say about the topic I’d love to read it. DefectiveWater 539 Posted October 23, 2022 (edited) Well, Sumrak once said (few months ago I think) on a stream that his number 1 wish (ignoring all limitations) to have in DayZ would be seasons. But if I remember correctly, he also acknowledged that it would be insanely difficult to achieve or outright impossible in DayZ engine. I think it would be fitting for DayZ. Would be cool too if there was a somewhat dynamic snow or at least areas with snow. Don't get your hopes up for now. Unfortunately the "vanilla base" version, as we all know, is what it is, luckily there are MODs that fix the game and add what is missing. Unfortunately, many servers abuse it, but it's also a matter of taste. The situation of DayZ is this, unfortunately get over it, grit your teeth and move on... I don't see other alternatives. Find a "decent" server using this mod or open one in person and hope other players like it too. I, in my spare time, am following the second one, and this mod is one that I would like to use... when I have also fixed the rest (without a "mall" style trader, in DayZ the objects are searched for the map!) Also was thinking of trying MD out as well. It's not bad. The whole mechanic of building up a village is a little unappealing to me personally, but aside from that it's a pretty decent title. I've never made it through winter yet, wolves keep getting me! Tonyeh 454 Posted November 7, 2022 The Intenz server has seasons. Although at the moment it's limited to just three. Summer, Autumn and Winter. Winter is an absolute nightmare. The problem is that in order to change the season there needs to be a complete wipe. That means your character, and you have to carefully nurse a toon on this server, gets whacked.
