Tonyeh 454 Posted February 20, 2022 There's probably an obvious answer for this, but why can't we zero the CR527 and Blaze rifles down to 100m when using a scope? It makes for really annoying shooting at medium ranges. Also, "just aim lower" isn't the answer I'm looking for. ☺️
-Gews- 7443 Posted February 20, 2022 I don't think there is any good reason, doesn't make sense to me. The question should be, why can we "zero" that scope at all? But just aim lower. The bullet from those two weapons at sub-200m distance should only should rise to the player's eyes if you aim at their lips. Not a big deal.
Tonyeh 454 Posted February 20, 2022 Hmmm...I dunno. I've had some very odd misses at around 150m while aiming lower on the target. Target was static and the bullet impact was above the head when I was aiming below their head. I'll have to do more testing I spose. Still I'd like to be able to zero down to 100m anyway. It's a peculiar restriction.

This sight came in the same patch as the Model 70 (Tundra), so I can only assume they set 200 m because it is reasonable for .308? Especially for military weapons. But on .22 Sporter it doesn't work well so it should be changed to minimum 100 or even 50. This combo of weapons and sight also results in zero dispersion in current version of DayZ (🙄🙁😤😡) so that cannot be blamed. I tested in Community Offline Mode, this should be the highest point of the bullet with CR527 + 200m zero. I have had a couple annoying misses so I would say, try to aim at the chin or mouth height under 200 to make sure. If you aim at eyebrow level it could go over.

They should just set a fix "zero" (i have no idea what's the correct english term for this) for this scope depending on the weapon (or caliber) it's mounted. Like 100m for the sporter and 200m for the rest. It doesn't make sense that this scope has this sort of feature - it needs standardized weapons and ammunition (hunting stuff varies too much).
