RZ0R 65 Posted August 8, 2021 Has anyone else noticed anything weird going on while shooting through/from being in a bush? I feel like when bushes interact with bullets they are causing huge damage reduction or bullet deflection. I've had three WTF moments involving bushes now. I'm yet to meet up with a friend and test it.
ZBA 66 Posted August 9, 2021 It is true and its very old "problem". Bushes and upper branches of a tree and other strange parts of dayz models like houses can reduce weapon damage

While it is somewhat realistic that a bush could ever so slightly affect a bullets trajectory depending on the thickness of the branch, I feel like it's too RNG for DayZ, and too inconsistent... Trees should have only hitboxes on tree trunks and bigger branches maybe, and bushes shouldn't have any hitboxes at all.
DayzDayzFanboy 1280 Posted August 11, 2021 I remember when it first landed on console, we cornered a guy in a Bush he was combat logging. As he sat there logging out we emptied 7.62 rounds into him for a good ten seconds until he disappeared. Not a single round hit him
