Shooting Through/In Bushes

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else noticed anything weird going on while shooting through/from being in a bush?

I feel like when bushes interact with bullets they are causing huge damage reduction or bullet deflection.

I've had three WTF moments involving bushes now.

I'm yet to meet up with a friend and test it.

It is true and its very old "problem". Bushes and upper branches of a tree and other strange parts of dayz models like houses can reduce weapon damage

Yeah, bushes and tree branches have hitboxes.

While it is somewhat realistic that a bush could ever so slightly affect a bullets trajectory depending on the thickness of the branch, I feel like it's too RNG for DayZ, and too inconsistent...
Trees should have only hitboxes on tree trunks and bigger branches maybe, and bushes shouldn't have any hitboxes at all.

I remember when it first landed on console, we cornered a guy in a Bush he was combat logging. As he sat there logging out we emptied 7.62 rounds into him for a good ten seconds until he disappeared. Not a single round hit him
