losing inventory assess upon server reset.

I was playing on a community server, and was well kitted out, then the server reset wile I was making a pit stop in RL.

I logged back in and could pick up loot, But could not assess the my inventory or see the hot bar till I hit the ~ key, tried all we could think of to no avail, so she shot me in the head and saved my gear. I logged in and picked up my gear and all was fine till the server reset again, and I couldn't get to my inventory again at that point I logged out for the night. did I miss some thing or is it a bug?
