Caatalyst 46 Posted April 5, 2021 (edited) Hello there! A mod that improves / overhauls the Dayz UI and feels like it was made in 2021 would be a great addition. Inventory management in this game is tedious and frustrating at times. This can be amplified even further on modded servers with all the modular and customised outfits and lets face it, modded servers are where it is at! Found this concept somebody made and it would be so much nicer! DefectiveWater 535 Posted April 5, 2021 (edited) So... what are your suggestions? 1.12 already added tool tip info (hovering your mouse over certain slots shows what goes there), and it was a suggestion on this forum. So they do listen, so all you have to do is speak up. The only thing that comes to my mind is highlighting slots when you hover over items; hovering over jackets will highlight jacket slot, and hopefully, vice versa should apply too. Hovering over jacket slots should highlight jackets. And you know how when you "close" Backpacks on the top right, they should still be listed in the scrollable right side of the inventory, but with hidden slots (no 7x8 slots visible, just a line saying "Hunter Backpack, content hidden" or something like that. Either way I don't feel like it's a necessary feature, but who knows. EDIT: just saw the image, not a bad suggestion. The only issue I have with that is the fact that you can't really see your character, but other than that, it seems to be offer more usability. EDIT 2: I'm fine with the current UI, I don't have issues with it, except what to me seems like a useless feature, and that is hiding the content of clothes. I wasn't suggesting a carbon copy of what the creator has produced. You could of course add a preview character page on the equipment panel. A crafting page could also be accommodated on the inventory panel. Hit the crafting button and it gives you a list of items that can be crafted from your inventory. This would include crafting requirements and show you whether you have them or not. Of course the finer details would need to be worked out and I imagine creating a mod like this would be very time consuming. I just wanted to throw it out there as the QOL improvements it comes with would be a massive game changer.
