Base Building and loot storage issue & Solution

Example of the issue:

Build a watchtower and put a barrel on the ground floor under the tower.  When you try and access the barrel you have to cycle through several menus to get to the barrel.  I currently minimize every window so that it shows the barrel only.  However, when you move away from the barrel and go back to it you have to repeat the process which gets frustrating.  It would be nice if the game would not reset this setting every time you move away from the storage container so you can move gear easier.
