Vehicle update...when???

Recommended Posts

I refuse to EVER play Dayz again on Xbox console until they fix the mountainous amount of problems pertaining to vehicles. (I.E. Server lag spikes causing spontaneous and instant collision totalling of vehicles, collisions with fence kits that can severely damage or total vehicles, vehicles that fly into the sky spinning on all axis points...just to name a few)

Well that's a server issue, not an issue the devs can fix per se ... also some of the spikes actually comes from the game loading assets in, so by having the game on an SSD goes a long way.

When my game was on my 7200 rpm HDD,  I used to have 1s to 3s game freezes the moment I drove into a city. Got myself an SSD and moved games there ... all those loading freezes went bye bye.

What is there to fix? Currently that is intended behavior, since the sticks in that kit have collision ... so driving into those sticks is the same as driving into the wall basically. Of course it could be debated that should those sticks have collision in the first place, but I'm pretty certain that if they would take the collision off, it could result us having the ability to build fences etc. anywhere.

This is tied to the server performance and ping in general.

On a good modded server for example, this usually just doesn't happen.

(assuming you have a good and stable connection)

Just last night I took part in a coastal racing event on the modded server I play and could go 100km/h easily with the Sarka and had no issues with lag or anything ... others had no issues either.

Mind you this was all on the PC, so I highly suggest you don't play this game on a console since those consoles cannot run this game properly in the first place.

Well first of all i appreciate your detailed, candid response and I must agree on a few of the points you made. However, vehicles are just too hard to both come by and repair/upkeep them into good working condition.

I think alot of us would agree that one major end-game goal is to acquire 'helicopter' weapons and loot. Vehicles are a HUGE factor in making this happen because, as we all know, heli's respawn in different locations every 30 minutes. Especially with regards to the Chernarus map!

I am constantly getting screwed out of my vehicle travels (and on them) because of the points I mentioned earlier. Now even if u can offer an explanation as to the why that these specific problems occur, it doesn't change the fact that they still happen! There are countless amounts of games that feature the simulation of driving a vehicle in-game and do NOT have these kind of problems i mentioned.

The fence kit collision, lol. In what world......do the physics of 'twig and twine' cause collision damage on a vehicle to be so great that it can be completely totaled? Let alone the fact that you can't even see one until its right upon you if your moving with any decent amount of speed.

Im sorry but my end-game with dayz IS the helicopters! Without a proper and stable vehicle transportation system, and I cannot consistently see this goal realized and it frustrates the ever-loving f*** out of me!!!

I assume this recommendation is not on the item in the store before purchase or in the return claim))).

This may partially affect the reduction in the number of problems, but this does not rule out the occurrence of a problem. Servers still have many problems of poor communication between client-server-clients, which cause a problem of synchronizing or registering a character's action or character interaction in different scenes that are not even associated with machines.
