GeordieMarv 293 Posted July 15, 2020 (edited) Imho it seems weird that a shovel gives the same worm yield as a tiny knife blade. Shovel & Pickaxe should give 2 worms. Knife should give 1 worm. It also seems weird that we can't split matches, painkillers, vitamins, charcoal, tetracycline, or chlorine. These are all pills/tablets etc and are easy separated in real life. I appreciate that you're prob trying to make it harder for people to survive and have to make them go and get these things to introduce gameplay. But we should be able to split these so we can divide them up between friends or give to other surivors we see on the road. We would still have to go and get these things again once they are all used up, and being able to help other survivors is adding gameplay too. If we can use duct tape to fix everything (even clothing and guns which frankly seems bizarre to me) then we should be able to split up a few pills/tablets/matches. Also for the love of god can we PLEASE have wrist watches again! I am so sick of having to guess the time in game or to have to task out to look at an external launcher like DayZSALauncher to see the time in game. The server has to remember the time anyways, so why can't we? It's not as if wrist watches would cease to exist in an apocalypse! Guns, tools all readily available...but not watches nope! Apparently time has ceased to exist! Wrist watches were in the mod 8 years ago. PLEASE make this a feature again. Parazight 1599 Posted July 15, 2020 Your title description is terrible. Clearly, you've never hunted worms before. There's no amount of calculable worm density within the earth. 'Seems weird' that one would assume that a pickaxe could generate multiple worms. Stacking medication is pretty insignificant. Maybe you carry around too much stuff. The really bottleneck is weight, not space. Pills don't weigh that much. Tell your friends to stop drinking out of every pond they see. I don't ever recall seeing wristwatches in DayZ standalone. Honestly, you don't need them. Most survivors, who know what they're doing, use the sun and the position of the night sky to judge the time. Wristwatches are 100% not necessary. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD (kek) don't add wristwatches. (Why do you even need to know the time?) 2
GeordieMarv 293 Posted July 15, 2020 (edited) Yes the title could have been named something more specific. How does it seem weird that a pickaxe would give multiple worms? A pickaxe would do a much better job at penetrating deeper and pulling up more earth than a steak knife or kitchen knife would do. You don't see workmen digging up a road with a kitchen knife do you! A somewhat pointless answer...but thanks. I don't want to "stack medication" i just want to be able to give some to a friend or survivor without the risk of them not giving me it back once they have used it or forgetting to give me it back My friends don't drink out of every pond they see, we use wells and water purification, again not sure why you feel the need to be so patronising or sarcasrtc. No one said wrist watches were in DayZ standalone. I said they were in the mod. Maybe you should take time to actually read and understand what people are saying before you decide to get all sanctimonious. Thanks for your "input" though. EzyStriderPS4 191 Posted July 15, 2020 @GeordieMarv : I like the idea of being able to split all those things except the matches. The way the containers for these items appear in-game, it seems feasible that you could tear off part of the packaging for chlorine tablets and the like, and hand them off to anyone else. However, I can't see the same thing happening to a box of matches; you can't really split the box if you think about it the way it is presented. Match-sticks would probably break in your pockets or backpack. P.S. The [v]Olga has a working clock on the dash. I personally don't care for a watch being added to the game, but that's just me. @Parazight is spot on with sun location tracking. I use the same strategy. I'd rather see a bicycle than a watch in the next update.
GeordieMarv 293 Posted July 16, 2020 (edited) @EzyStriderPS4 They could easily change the box of matches to a book of matches so they could be easily torn like tablets, i guess. As for the sun i know it's not too hard to tell/use and it's not a major thing obvs. I just liked it (in the mod) because you could gauge how much light is left a bit easier and you could also use it to meet up with people "in a hour" etc and it would give time to plan (say for raids). It was just handy imho, but i get that people might disagree or see it as a waste of time...pun fully intended. I knew the city hall clock tells the time too, but i had no idea there was a clock in the cars or some cars. I generally stay away from cars as they were just soo buggy and unreliable...or they used to be. I haven't been in one since version .08 or something, as i am still mentally scarred. If you glot some cleptomaniacs as friends then you need to take control :P instead of giving them, make them sit down in front of you, being a good boy, and then you feed them the meds yourself haha.
