Like wtf?

Why does the water weigh less in the plastic bottle than the canten, and why does it remove so much stamina?

its now fixed as of today with the new hotfix (displayed on ps4 as 1.18)

From what I was to understand from my own testing is that a canteen carries more water then a plastic bottle. Could that be it?
