Lost character

I connected to a server and my character reset to a default.  I tried exiting and connecting again, but same issue.  Tried customizing the character and it still reset to the first default.  I killed the character and I could customize it, but still lost my original. Hours and my stuff all gone.

Can i get it back or am I done playing this game?  HELP!  Please.

You probably got sniped just as you were logging off. 

Were you on a private or community server? Sometimes community servers get reset by the owners. Our you may have switched to another community server which would give you a fresh character.
