No blue text/No message received

I've recently installed dayz and whenever I enter servers and I switch to go to the side channel, it never pops up. Not sure if its the server or me. Also, whenever I enter a server it starts saying I have 47 ping. After awhile on the server I start disconnecting and after disconnecting I look at my ping and it shows up as 6,000. Not sure if the server is applying all lag pressure is put down on me or what. My internet is not bad what so ever. I use the arma 2 launcher. Not sure if this is the place to put this but just hoping for the best.

Make sure you are running the latest beta and try to join a server requiring the same.

Post would be better in troubleshooting section.

Some servers have the side chats disabled. (Group, Direct and Vehicle) -normaly just them.

If your ping in game is fine then dont worry about it

Thanks for the help. I'm new to these forums, but not the game. My ping says its fine at the start but 10 minutes in it goes crazy. I'll try the troubleshooting section!
