persistence and buried items

So I have started to bury stuff for when i die and respawn. I have created several staches all over the map.    Last night I switched servers (same hive - Offical Dayz US servers, one in NY and one in LA).    I played a bit, didn't die, and then switched back.     Then one of my stashes was gone, OK, maybe someone found it. It's happened before.   So I check another, it's gone. This one was hard to find. I check another, GONE.   All in all lI checked 4 locations and all of them are gone.

Did i screw up by bounching servers?  I thouhgt that is they are on the same HIVE, and have persistence ON, that my gear and stashes would be the same - IE follow me around.  Am I not understanding how this works, or if I want to bury items then I am locked into playing on that server only?  My next step is to try to build small base to hide item. Will the base follow be on tha same hive?

Things you do on a server ONLY stay on THAT server. So no buried stashes dont follow your server choice.

So your stashes are probably right where you left them. Only your character is able to switch within  a hive

Unrelated to your question you got what was coming..... Hoarding should be a Risk since you mess up the Central Loot Economy.

OK, thanks,    So to understand, by leaving the server, and returning later, it causes me to loose my buried item?

No only if you switch servers.... So Just hit play next time. It will take you to your last played server. You cant connect to a random server within a hive it had to be the exact server.

If your stashes are gone, either the server reset persistence causing everything to despawn and the world to start fresh, or you got robbed. Probably the second. I hear that ESP for tracking down stashes is a pretty popular cheat.

The ESP hacks work on buried stuff also? I thought burying your loot was the only way to beat the hacks...
