cooking pot using

Recommended Posts

hello survivors, i start to discover dayz cooking wonders. some noob doubts...

1) i use cooking pot with portable gas stove (large gas canister), to turn on gas canister i must have a matches ready on hand or not? i did it but after many times, i don't remember (now i'm not before ps4)

2) i store several meats in cooking pot for future use, in the pot there is also water......food ruin with passing of time or not?

3) i can create many boiled meats, can i store in pot for future use (with water) or i must store in inventory avoiding ruin them? i'm not sure if it's better raw and store, or cook and store...

p.s. i assume that boiled is the best for cooked meat, right?

Depending how accurate the video was it was explained that cooking/roasting increased food efficiency by 75% and only 25% for boiled. But he did say boiled would hold more hydration levels to it.

Ive wondered the same about what does or doesnt happen to some thing in a cooking pot with water. Obviously they get wet but do they get damaged over time?  Does the water stay healthy if i dump 6 loaded clips into there?

Suffice it to say i wouldnt wanna drink water from a pot that was holding most any of the items i put in there so does it become harmful and maybe need to be purified again or no?

If you cook food with no water in the pot and a piece of lard, it will get baked instead of boiled. This will make it fill up your hunger bar way more!

food doesn't ruin atall unless in a piece of clothing that gets shot, like the other guy said cook with fat not water to get the most food possible, you dont need matches for the gas stove, just look for the prompt on it and press square to turn it on.

Water doesn't seem to effect anything I've carried in the pot with it. The water was also drinkable throughout.  ......I've used them as canteens when other more appropriate containers weren't around and also as storage to save space at the same time.

indeed you are right, you can turn on portable stove:

- if there is gas in the canister you combined to it

- if there IS NOT cooking pot combined (place it after turn on stove, it seems a simple thing but if i read it somewhere i don't waste several minutes)

- the matches are not necessary

p.s. a little question: if i cook in a house smoke appear outside over the house?

if you put a fireplace on the floor I don't think the smoke is visible outside, if you use a cooking pot in an oven it comes out the chimney

in your experience (or others) is better to have stored in pot 2 lard fats (baked) or 6 chicken steaks (boiled)?

Neither. Just eat all the food you find immediately so you don't have to carry it with you (unless you have a friend you are saving it for). Your food bar can be filled up infinetly so there is no use in storing food in your inventory to eat later.

So even when you're full in regard to the food bar, consuming more food will still fill it up in essence?  ....without being wasted?  You can also get sick from eating too much, no?

Yes. And about the getting sick thing, I have eaten half a deer once and I didn't get sick, so it might be glitched or something. Puking also doesn't seem to take away a lot of your food/water bars, so you don't need to be scared of overeating. These are just some things I have noticed from playing the 1.06 version and 0.62 back in the day.

  • Thanks 1
