Unstable Character Genders, Appearance

I made a female character that seems tp keep changing genders and appearance. Is this normal ?

It was a joke, but it’s also true for DayZ...

Your character choice isn’t saved between play sessions. 

If you select your character every time you startup DayZ (even if you have a character on the server), you should respawn as the same one when you die.

If that doesn’t work... When you die, exit to the menu,  select your character, rejoin and THEN respawn (this method is a pain in the arse).

Oh well, hopefully they'll fix that eventually, because even the characters at the select screen are munged. I feel strange playing a male. Thanks for the help.
