etaab 70 Posted August 9, 2019 (edited) Literally what is going on ? Since 1.04 i understand that to stop people server hopping your spawn point may change. But every single time I log in ? I thought there would be a cool down, such as 1 hour of real time. Since 1.04 dropped, every time I log in I'm on average 4.7 kilometers away from where I logged out. For example, I logged out on Wednesday night and 24 hours later logged in, miles away. So if I play in the same server for 5 hours and log out, the next day when I come back for another session I've got to spend an hour running back to where I wanted to be or where I'm heading to. It seems like im being penalised for NOT server hopping. It also makes meeting up with friends ridiculous as they also spawn at different locations to where as a team we logged out. If we're not committed to playing for a minimum of 2 hours we would never see each other again! Thoughts? Edited August 9, 2019 by etaab
Markyd 12 Posted August 9, 2019 If u join the same server u left u spawn where u logged out if u hope to a different one then u get a new spawn... It to keep u in one server and not hopping round to different ones only downside to that if u wanna raid another server u have to fuck about finding where u are again
thedarkmancer 2 Posted August 9, 2019 If you always connect to the same server that you logged off this will stop happening, it's quite simple.
ThePugman 280 Posted August 9, 2019 Also, it’s crucial that there is no cool-down period. Otherwise people would still be able to ghost into bases, and steal stuff. Once you get used to this new system, it’s great. No more server hoppers stealing all the military loot, or appearing out of nowhere, killing you. The ups definitely outweigh the downs.
etaab 70 Posted August 10, 2019 I know it's a simple idea, yet seems far too harshly implemented. First of all it means you're stuck on the same server forever playing the other 59 people who are also stuck with playing on that one server. It means you're going to be meeting the same 59 people every time you have another player encounter. They'll also get used to seeing the routes you take, where you stop for water or build a base etc. Or, sometimes a server will freak out and lag like mad (like 5 seconds lag to open a door after you press square is a big time delay) so being able to just swap to another server to avoid it is just silly. Or, when I got farted out of a server then other day I was playing with a friend on I rejoined and was miles away through no fault of my own ! Why couldn't they just change it from what it's currently set to, to say no further than 500m ? Or 1km ? But 5km+ run everytime a server shuts down is simply silly. It's annoying all my friends more than anything else in the game because we just want the ease of being able to meet quickly. Prior to 1.04, we would log in at similar times or if not, not wander more than 1km away from where we logged out as a team. Anyway, rant over, it's just made the game unnecessarily awkward for people with a destination in mind or wishing to meet with friends.

EzyStriderPS4 191 Posted August 13, 2019 The duping has stopped. I don't believe playing on one server is a bad thing. Whatever reason any player decides to switch servers for, is a valid implementation for the current system. Other players knowing more about what you do, and where you go means you're slacking, OP. But don't worry, I'll watch you through my scope while you hastily drink at the town well, my finger off the trigger, in accord that your heart's every beat, for a short time, churns fear at a gently elevated pace to your periphery and back. Nah, I'm just messing with ya. I'd rather hunt caribou. Been on two hunts. Haven't bagged one yet. The first time I ever saw them in a group, I had a perfect shot, but didn't need the food, so I passed them by. I'll drop you off some jerky when I get one if you don't KoS. But seriously, Devs, the ability to dry out and cure meats would be cool.
