Private Server Persistence OFF?

My friends and I were playing on the private server I ordered and when we were west of Solnechiy hunting deer the server "restarted" with no warning or message saying the server was going to restart. So when we joined back all our progress had been reset and we were back on the coast. Does this mean private servers have Persistence OFF? I ordered a server because I read it was persistent?

 

Just another addition, does the camera mode even working? Or was it supposed be added later?

The characters should be persistent on your private server.

I dont know what went wrong, maybe there was a problem and they had to wipe it or start it over or maybe your character got locked out of the database after you joined again.

And what do you mean with the camera mode? And what regarding it was supposed to be added later?

If you are playing on a 3P-server then you can switch between 3P and 1P by double-tapping the right stick, and if you are playing on a 1P-server then you are stuck in 1P for obvious reasons. 🙂
