Everything above  Novaya petrovka should be covered in snow, there should be dangerous animals, frozen ponds and streams, below zero degrees. Snow blizzards where you can't see 10 meters ahead.  mountains with predator. And both Tissy and Kamensk MB should have better loot, including any new bases up there. I'm talking SVD, SAW or m60,  crossbow, double the ammo, smersh vest in winter camo, clothes in winter camo, winter camo tents, different helmets, thick military clothes to stand the cold. 

Then people could take that risk and be rewarded. Players who want even more hardcore could choose to set up camps and try to live in that harsh environment.

I'm talking real hardcore. Like: "You went up there and... and survived? Holy crap you crazy!!" And not some "hey look at my vest, i got it at Tisy, the only place it spawns" mickey mouse bullshit.
