I think it should be more rare for zombies to drop food. WHat do you guys think?

Agreed.  I was running a server for a while where I had disabled infected loot altogether.  This can be tweaked by the server administrators, but I doubt if Bohemia will ever tweak it.

There are many community servers that have implemented more "hard core" type measures and some of them include reduced or eliminated loot on the infected -- I suggest searching for and playing on one of them.

Where can you tweak it?

In the server XML files, you can define what spawns where and there is a section that defines what percentage loot might spawn on the infected.  What I did was simply delete that section, telling the server that infected aren't eligible to spawn loot and what I ended up with was the same number of infected present, but none of them had any loot on them.

You don't have to go to this extreme if you don't want to.  You can just lower the percentage chance to something very low like 0.10 maybe which would make finding loot on infected very rare.
