Base building

Hello guys and girls, new to the game can anyone help me? I know if you die you lose everything which is cool. What about base Building if a build a base will i lose everything if i die or leave the game?

if you die, everything you have on you is gone (assuming no friends can loot your body for you to save your stuff)

Anything else, your base, tent, barrels, buried stash or car will still be wherever you left it (assuming no one else has found and raided it)

Base building is fun.  I’ve spent lots of time looking tools and wood to build. The only bad thing you might run into is you get everything the way you want it just for someone to server hop right into your base without opening one door, Without damaging one wall. People are very shady.  Not everyone but more than most.
