uG Omnipotent 0 Posted February 28, 2019 Hey there, After the recent stream broadcasted on Mixer about the developmental processes taken place on Xbox, I wanted to leave a couple of comments on here on how the stream could have been improved. The first thing I noticed was the social awkwardness between Baty (Community Relations) and Martin (Brand Management). The awkwardness occurred when Baty was to ask Martin a question and Martin didn't really give a good reply and instead more focused on playing the game and getting easily distracted. I think a good way of countering this is to let Tim play the game instead of Martin. In relation to this, Tim wasn't seen talking at all during the stream except for the beginning of the live stream and we didn't really know what his role was when participating on the live stream. I think Tim should have had the chance to give Martin questions about the current issues of Xbox DayZ instead of Baty giving all the questions. I did notice during the live stream that Martin stated "I'm a marketing person, So I technically its hard for me to explain how it exactly it's going to be fixed" I don't think this is the best way to say this to the community as a lot of the Xbox Community I'm currently in heard this they wouldn't be pleased. I think a good counter to this would be to actually feature an Xbox Developer on the stream who are perfectly working on the issue at hand. "To be honest I play more Xbox because I'm a lazy bastard and I like to sit in my chair at home" I loved that quote from Martin and I believed it gave us a sense of hope that someone working at Bohemia is actually playing the Xbox version instead of the PC and really show who we are as Xbox players. People that want to play entertainment with mates. Another thing I wanted to point out was the layout of the stream. The one couch is essential however didn't really show that there was dedication towards the live stream. I would recommend getting another couch and having a table in the middle of it with photos of maybe the community spotlight so peoples images would be displayed within the live streams giving more of a social feel with the community or changing the image on the green/blue screen behind you which didn't change for the entire live stream. I also feel that the camera of the live stream didn't move at all and could have been moved around at any point to give it a more professional feel. Another issue I wanted to bring up was the discord. The discord feels bland and rushed. I've been with discord since the start over 3 years now and wanted to give some feedback on how it could possibly be improved. I'll start with the voice channels http://prntscr.com/mr47ji (Image to voice channels currently at the point of when this thread was posted) the "looking_for_group" channel doesn't need to have the underscores within its name as its a voice channel. The AFK Channel as an emoji on it which is cool but needs more of a layout to make it look cool. The categories for voice channels for Xbox "Voice Xbox" has only one voice channel which is kinda a shame and should have more. and the last voice channel is "Dwarden's lair" which according to the category name should be Invisible (Not seen to the public" however a permission error/fault was have occurred when creating the channel. The next issue is some of the text channels. http://prntscr.com/mr4930 (Link to the Twitterbot) The twitter bot should have an image and should be named to DayZ Twitter Feed or something on the baseline. My community has a bot set up to read DayZ's twitter and looks like this http://prntscr.com/mr49iw (Link to my Twitterbot). Another channel #get_xbox_codes isn't really needed now and doesn't have a purpose in the DayZ discord anymore considering that the beta doesn't exist anymore on Xbox and the game is now available to buy. another channel #communities_xbox is a concern where you may only post every two weeks but people delete their posts and repost to make it look like they didn't post in the first place. another issue spotted would be that there aren't any bots within the discord which automatically filters out any bad words nor links which may link to malicious websites. Another issue is the roles. there are not many roles and most of the roles are not named correctly or not needed in the first place. http://prntscr.com/mr4avx (Roles Dwarden has) the "@" isn't require in some of the roles names and it seems impossible to get the role "veteran" on the server let alone "moderator". I spoke to a moderator the other day which was billiant and showed me that moderation is being taken place behinds the scences which is great and a bohemia member was talking in a community channel which is also great. but the issue is that the discord needs some work on it to make it look better than its current state. This maybe a long shot but I would be happy to do alot of the issues for free as I love DayZ and the concept of the game as I've been playing DayZ for a very long time now. I would like to get to thoughts of the community on this one and see everybody else's opinion on what I have had to say on the thread. I would also like to thank the DayZ Development Team for the absolute best on the game and would love to see someone from Bohmeia or the Community Team reply to this thread on some of the things I have said Much Love, Omnipotent
ImpulZ 2491 Posted February 28, 2019 Hey, and thank you for taking the time to write down your feedback. 🙂 Yes, we have also come to the conclusion that the moderation was less then optimal with one person playing and explaining at the same time. We had quite a lack of personnel (Xbox developers are quite busy and would have to come from Bratislava to Prague for one hour stream) and the technical setup is highly mobile to say the least, so moving/changing cameras and elaborate streaming setups are not an option. Same goes for the background, which was real by the way and not a green/bluescreen. 🙂 This is not to be understood as an excuse, but more to give an insight into the constraints we have to work with. We have a small, but talented team and compared to our previous PC streams we were hopefully able to make some good improvements in terms of quality. We will improve our presentation quality further and also try to apply some changes to the setup, but some constraints will probably remain, as they always do. Regarding your feedback on our Discord channel, we have forwarded that to the responsible admins and we'll see where we can apply some improvements.
