What makes a server Great?

Greetings my fellow survivors,

I was recently asked a very interesting question by one of my friends. We had just gotten back into DayZ Standalone with a group of a couple of our friends and we were discussing the best times we've had in DayZ. We each have had many different experiences but after talking for about an hour or so we came to realize that the vast majority of things we loved about DayZ came from the servers and people we played with. Whether it was the ridiculously fast zombies or the traders across the server, we could always find things about the servers of DayZ that we loved.

Now I'm curious about you guys. What makes your favorite server your favorite server? Is it the addition of certain mods? Different features? Certain starting load outs? What makes a server most appealing for you to join with your friends? Or the opposite; is there features on servers that you hate? Server wide clans? The inclusion of a night cycle/ getting rid of night all together? Loot spawn rates?
